Announcement: Tulare County Superior Court Introduces Our Virtual Public Counter -

The Tulare County Superior Court is excited to announce our new service, the Virtual Public Counter.  Accessed via mobile device or computer, our virtual public counter offers real-time, face-to-face interactions with our Superior Court support team, potentially alleviating the need for a physical visit to the court. They assist with a variety of services like court records requests, payments, and self-help.  Due to procedural logistics some services may require an in-person visit.  Click here to try it now.

Divisions

Here you will find information regarding the various divisions at the Superior Court of California, County of Tulare. Select from the options below to learn more about each department.

  • Appeals

    Get information on the appeals process for Felony, Juvenile Delinquency, Juvenile Writ Cases, Limited and Unlimited Civil Cases, Settlement/Abandonment/Voluntary Dismissal/Compromise appeal processes.

  • Civil

    The Court Civil Division handles civil disputes, including landlord/tenant conflicts.

  • Collections

    The Court Collection Department provides enforcement of court-ordered traffic and criminal fines for the Visalia, Tulare, Porterville, and Dinuba Superior Courts.

  • Criminal

    The Superior Court has jurisdiction over misdemeanor and felony criminal charges. Misdemeanors are offenses generally punishable by a fine and/or a county jail term, and felonies are generally punishable by imprisonment in the state prison and/or fines.

  • Family Court Services

    The Family & Child Division hears matters involving family-related issues and domestic relations.

  • Family Law

    Information relating to divorce, legal separation, annulments, custody and visitation, and more.

  • Juvenile

    The Juvenile Division handles juvenile delinquency and juvenile dependency cases.

  • Probate

    The Probate Department of the court handles decedents' estates, trusts, guardianships of minors, and conservatorships of adults.

  • Small Claims

    Small claims court is a special court where disputes are resolved quickly and inexpensively. The rules are simple and informal.

  • Traffic

    The Traffic Division has jurisdiction over Vehicle Code (infraction) violations, some local municipal ordinances and minor misdemeanors.
